What are the steps to become an IBM CSA for Websphere Portal 7.0?
The IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Portal 7.0 is a mid-level certification aimed at system administrators who already have the skills to operate a WebSphere Portal envrionment with little assistance.
It demonstrates the successful candidate has the abilities needed to install, configure, customise, administer, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot the sytem and validates their ability to perform the day-to-day tasks required to deliver the efficient operation of a WebSphere Portal 7.0 environment.
Candidates should already have a background using WebSphere Portal and will have already acquired basic skills in operating systems, troubleshooting and administration before completing the exams as actual experience with the system and an ability to directly apply the skills learnt are essential parts of passing them.
There are two paths to certification, one for those already qualified on version 6.1 and one for those with no prior certifications. Currently-certified system administrators for V6.1 must complete the LOT-910 exam while all others must complete both the LOT-920 and LOT-921exams. It is strongly recommended all candidates complete the appropriate training courses before attempting the exams to supplement their practical skills and ensure they have covered all the latest information available.
