How can I gain a Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) certification?

The CCNA® Security demonstrates the holder has an associate level of understanding and ability required to secure Cisco networks. Those seeking certification should already have a valid CCNA or any CCIE certification as a prerequisite.

Once certified, holders will have a validation that they have the skills needed to recognise and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities to networks and develop a security infrastructure.

The emphasis of the certification covers:

  • Developing core security technologies
  • Confidentiality and availability of data and devices
  • Competency in the technologies used in Cisco security infrastructure
  • The installation, troubleshoorting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity

To achieve certification candidates must successfully complete the 640-553 IINS exam and it is recommended they also comlete the available training course to ensure they have covered all the relevant material.
