The Accredited Presales Consultant (APC) - StorageWorks Solutions Architect [2011] certification is aimed at technical consultants whose role invloves supporting salespeople who, while they don't need to be a technical expert in StorageWorks, should have enough understanding of the system to design and outline a successful storage solution for their clients and be able to highlight the benefits involved.
The qualification is designed to help increase sales of HP storage solutions by giving a consultant the skills needed to successfully provide assistance to a sales team, demonstrating a solid understanding both of clients' needs, how those needs are met with HP solutions and being able to communicate this information effectively in a language the customer will understand.
Successful candidates will be those who are able to display a solid knowledge of:
- StorageWorks design, vision, strategy and solutions
- Storage area network (SAN) basics and available networking products
- Data protection
- Storage management programs
- Client needs and how to translate them into StorageWorks solutions
- FC disk storage systems
- ISCSI-based SAN solutions
- Virtualisation and scalable architecture
- Storage server integration
- Competitive situation
To achieve certification candidates must complete the HP0-J48 exam and it is strongly recommended they complete the Designing HP StorageWorks Solutions training course available to ensure they have covered all the areas listed above.
