Building on the skills developed in the Foundation and Intermediate Levels, the Expert Level qualification is designed for those who want to demonstrate a significant knowledge and appreciation of the entire ITILĀ® process. As such, the content included covers the broad range of IT service management and successful completion provides candidates with a validation of their skills which can significantly help boost career prospects.
Because it is such a high-level certification and covers the full range of the ITIL process, prospective candidates must have a substantial level of experience in IT service management demonstrated through the successful completion of lower-level courses. In addition to demonstrable knowledge, candidates must complete the Foundation Level certificate - or equivalent bridge course - and have completed 22 credits of the Intermediate Level qualification which must include the Managing Across the Lifecycle module. They can then select their own modular route to complete the required credits for the Expert Level qualification which, upon completion, serves as the entry requirement for the ITIL Master Level certificate, the highest qualification in the ITIL process.
